Very fragrant flowers, white or pink, in clusters in early spring (flowers are often spoiled by late frosts, so they are less effective than the flowers of other viburnums);autumn color is red ro reddish purple.
Full sun; moist, well-drained soil is best; prefers a slightly acid soil.
Flowering on this species often occurs in autumn if weather is warm or in warm spells in late winter. This reduces the flowering for spring, making it less ornamental than other viburnums.
Oval to rounded; somewhat open
