Small (4 inch), lilac-type clusters of flowers in late spring; flowers are pale purple and have only very light fragrance; summer foliage is much smaller than other lilacs and is glossy with wavy edges.

Culture

Full sun; moist, well-drained soils are best; tolerates alkaline soil.

Notes

Most lilacs require a good deal of maintenance. In comparison, this species requires very little maintenance.
